Dean Rogers and Dean Michel Kalika of Ecole de Management Strasbourg discuss need for more joint programs.

A global business education is essential in today’s world economy. BGSU’s College of Business Administration recognizes that importance and continues to be a leader in study abroad programs by forging new relationships with foreign universities and enhancing existing partnerships. This allows our business students to become immersed in a foreign culture and it enhances their education.

Dr. Bennion & Dean Rogers of BGSU celebrate with Dean Kalika, Dr. Rachel Price-Kreitz & Dr. Ludwig Kreitz, Strasbourg, after signing agreement.

Dean of the College of Business Administration Rodney Rogers and the coordinator of the College’s study abroad programs, Dr. Mark Bennion, recently returned from a trip to Europe. BGSU’s dean finalized an agreement with the Ecole de Management Strasbourg to begin a dual undergraduate business degree program in 2009-10. BGSU is the only AACSB-accredited business school in Ohio to offer a dual degree at the undergraduate level with a European university. Students will earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from BGSU and a Bachelor of Arts in European Management from Strasbourg.

Dean Rogers met with Dean Michel Kalika of Ecole de Management Strasbourg to sign the new agreement. Rogers and Bennion later celebrated the signing with other representatives of Strasbourg’s business school.

Jean-Pierre Helfer, Dean of Audencia, and Dean Rogers

While in France, Dean Rogers and Dr. Bennion also met with Jean-Pierre Helfer, business dean of Audencia in Nantes, France, to renew their agreement which increases the student exchange rate. Under this new agreement, two BGSU students will go to Nantes each year and Audencia will send one French student to BGSU to study. The schools are talking about possible future faculty exchanges as well.

Not only does BGSU have strong partnerships in France, but it is also a leader in study abroad programs in China by having the largest number of business students studying in Hong Kong this past semester.
