A Message from the Dean

Greetings! It is hard to believe we are already halfway into the fall semester and classes have been in session for more than nine weeks. There have been so many exciting events happening in the College.

I have enjoyed many opportunities to interact with students. The tailgate barbecue with students was particularly fun! Students got fired up for the big game with a visit from Freddie and Freida Falcon. We had some friendly competition playing cornhole toss and racing paddle boats. I then took the students for more tailgating at the Glass Bowl with BGSU alums.

Best and Brightest Chosen as Student Ambassadors for the College

A select group of business students have been chosen to represent the College of Business and assist the dean with a variety of activities and events through a new program called Student Ambassadors. These high achieving students have received training in such areas as networking and presentations to prepare them to travel with the dean to alumni events and engage with prominent BGSU graduates. The Student Ambassadors will also accompany our undergraduate recruiting coordinator on school visits to meet with prospective students and their parents and share their thoughts of why they chose BGSU and their experiences.

Student Ambassadors also utilize their leadership skills to serve as role models to their fellow business students and generate a “buzz” and encourage participation in College initiatives, events, and activities.

Dr. Amelia Carr Named the World's Top Student Chapter Mentor for APICS

Over the past 6 years, 5 of BGSU's nominations have won the world's top student mentor award presented by the Association for Operations Management (APICS) International.

From Wooster Street, BG, to Wall Street, NYC, Student has Great Internship

Over the summer I interned with Citigroup in downtown Manhattan. As a summer associate within Citi Research, I worked within the aerospace and defense equity research team.

BGSU Supply Chain Management Chapter Among Best in the World

BGSU has earned its third straight "Platinum" award for student chapter management excellence by The Association for Operations Management (APICS).

Dean Braun Moderates Panel of CEOs at National Conference

With tremendous knowledge of leading large health-related companies before joining the University, and as a former industry leader, College of Business Dean Ray Braun served as the moderator for a panel discussion at a recent National Investment Center (NIC) conference in Chicago.
