The College of Business Administration wants to help undergraduate students succeed in their academic endeavors and stay on track with their coursework to graduate on time. During the first two years, students are centrally advised by College Office advisors and then, during the final two years, students work with an appointed faculty advisor.

Current students can go to MyBGSU and check My Advisor for their personal advisor contact information and can find computerized degree audits each semester which show the student completion of courses and other degree requirements.

College Office Advisors

Undergraduate Student Development provides College Office advising. Our advisors know important academic policies, procedures, and resources for students at BGSU. All students enrolled in the College of Business should seek College Office advising, including students who have declared specializations and faculty advisors and, in particular, students who are undecided or specializing in general business.

Appointments for advising or learning about our programs may be scheduled by calling (419) 372-2747 or visiting the College Office, room 253 Business Administration Building.

A few reasons to meet with a College Office advisor:

• Learn about College and BGSU programs
• Discuss degree requirements and scheduling questions
• Understand BSBA admission and other requirements
• Get important registration information and dates
• Get information and referrals to learn more about specializations
• Review degree progress to ensure timely graduation

Faculty Advisors

Faculty advisors are assigned when the student declares or changes degree programs or specializations. These advisors are experts in the area of specialization. In addition to advising and teaching students, they also conduct research in their fields, and have connections to businesses and other organizations.

Most faculty advisors have office hours posted on their office doors and can be reached through email or telephone messages or through the department or program office. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor to discuss specializations, co-ops and internships, career opportunities, and networking possibilities.
