College of Business Administration

History

Scott Hamilton, Olympic gold-medal skater, performer, and Bowling Green native, along with William Dallas, BGSU alumnus and co-founder of Fox Sports Grill, presented a joint $3 million gift to the College of Business Administration. This generous gift created the William and Beverly Dallas and Scott and Traci Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. The Center serves as an outreach component of the College's entrepreneurship initiative. From this beginning, created this timeline of events:

  • 2002 E-ship minor designed; First E-ship class offered
  • 2003 Kauffman Foundation grant launches program
  • 2004 Dallas-Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership endowed
  • 2004 Sebo Speakers Tom Golisano, Paychex; Scott Hamilton Olympic Skater
  • 2005 Gene Poor named Ernest and Dorothy Hamilton Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership; Ralph Hanke appointed Assistant Professor Entrepreneurship
  • 2005 Additional entrepreneurship funds raised from distinguished alumni Mr. R. Whitehouse, Mr. P. Ryan, Mr. L. Davenport, Mr. R. Sebo
  • 2005 Sebo Speaker Frank Maguire, FedEx
  • 2006 Milt Baker named Director Dallas-Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial leadership
  • 2006 Sebo Speaker Tom Kelley IDEO
  • 2007 New Venture Challenge, TV show pilot, BizX: Entrepreneurial Leaders, Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour
