This
program is a flexible program with minimal requirements.
In addition to the general education requirements of
the University, the requirements include (see program
requirements and specific
course descriptions):

- MATH 1260 or 1310, or both
1340 and 1350. Students are strongly urged to take MATH
1310, or 1340 and 1350, rather than 1260.
Credit for MATH 90, 95, 98 and 1120 does not count
toward the degree. Only three hours of credit for MATH
1200 count toward the degree

Natural Sciences
One lab science course from the list of natural science
courses for University general education is required
and may be counted toward general education requirements.
Social and Behavioral Sciences
Each student is required to complete four courses from

from the list of humanities and arts courses for
University general education. Any two of the three
courses may
be
counted toward general education requirements.
Oral and Written Communications
All economics majors must satisfy a written and oral
communications requirement in economics. Certification
by an economics faculty member that the requirement
has been met is required. Details are available
in the department
office.
Free Electives
Economics (except ECON 2000) or other courses may
be used as free electives to complete the minimum

of 122 credit hours. The number of credit hours
needed (18-31) is determined by the number of
hours taken
as University, general degree or major requirements.
Free electives should be selected in consultation
with the faculty adviser. IPC 1020 and at least
one course
in computer science are recommended. Generally
a student may take courses in any department
