We hope you’ll agree that Nashville is a great town. We’ve tried to put together a week full of activities that will help you enjoy the city to its fullest!

After a full day of educational workshops, you’ll want to relax at our opening reception and hat/mascot exchange. Last year’s t-shirt exchange was so successful that we wanted to do it again this year, but with a twist…now that you’ve got that t-shirt you always coveted, this year is your opportunity to get a hat or mascot to go with it! Click here to check out some of the choice trades you might want to make and plan your trading strategy in advance! In addition to saying hello to old friends and meeting new ones at the reception, you will enjoy some great entertainment, thanks to Bowling Green State University and Prentice Hall. To make the reception a little more exciting, we’re keeping the name of our entertainer a secret, but we can say that the reception is one event you don’t want to miss!

Thursday afternoon we’ll break from paper sessions a little so that we can spend a leisurely evening touring three delightful southern mansions and learning the meaning of the term “southern hospitality.” Click here to find out more about this evening’s plans.

Go ahead and miss a paper session…no one will tell your dean. Take advantage of this opportunity to see the historic Hermitage. If you can’t go at this time, don’t worry; the museum is open every day from 9 – 4, so you should still be able to fit a side trip into your schedule. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of Vanderbilt, arranged by ALSB’s own graduate of Vandy, Chuck Stowe.

Everyone has heard of Opryland. It is located within walking distance of OpryMills Shopping and Entertainment Emporium. We will have buses running continually from 10 a.m.–2:00 for those of you who would like to explore either of these venues, or who would like to have someplace interesting where your family can go while you are enjoying more papers.
