The marketing department's number one priority is student success through quality education. Marketing students develop skills in identifying market opportunities and developing and implementing marketing programs. They learn the boundary spanning marketing activities for product, service, and business-to-business markets in a global economy.
Students specialize in marketing while earning their bachelor’s degree in business. Students can minor in marketing as well. Our marketing students excel compared to other colleges. For instance, our sales team earned the nation’s #1 spot at the 2010 National Collegiate Sales Competition and we have the 4th best record since 1999 at N.C.S.C. BGSU’s student chapter of the American Marketing Association is in the top 5% of chapters worldwide.
At BGSU, students have two marketing specialization options to choose from - a general marketing specialization and a sales and services marketing specialization. BGSU is the only university in the country to offer a marketing program focused specifically on both sales and services marketing.
We have one of the best faculty who are involved in exciting research, and we are proud to have a Fulbright Scholar that has brought international attention to service excellence. A focus on services marketing is demonstrated by the Service Marketing Institute that provides engagement and learning opportunities for students, faculty, and the business community as well as the new specialization.
