The marketing department's number one priority is student success through quality education. Marketing students develop skills in identifying market opportunities and developing and implementing marketing programs. They learn the boundary spanning marketing activities for product, service, and business-to-business markets in a global economy.
Students specialize in marketing while earning their bachelor’s degree in business. Students can minor in marketing as well. Our marketing students excel compared to other colleges. For instance, our sales team earned the nation’s #1 spot at the 2010 National Collegiate Sales Competition and we have the 4th best record since 1999 at N.C.S.C. BGSU’s student chapter of the American Marketing Association is in the top 5% of chapters worldwide.
A new specialization in sales and services marketing will be offered starting Fall 2013. BGSU will be one of the few universities in the country to offer such a focused program
We have one of the best faculty who are involved in exciting research, and we are proud to have a Fulbright Scholar that has brought international attention to service excellence. A focus on services marketing is demonstrated by the Service Marketing Institute that provides engagement and learning opportunities for students, faculty, and the business community as well as the new specialization. We offer a valuable Certificate in Services Marketing to undergraduate students that gives our students a competitive edge.
