BGSU Professional MBA Program Expands to Findlay in 2013
"Bowling Green State University and the College of Business are pleased to make available an AACSB-accredited MBA program to West Central and North Central Ohio communities," states BGSU Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost Rodney Rogers, formerly the dean of the College of Business. Starting in January 2013, the College of Business will be expanding its Professional MBA (PMBA) program and offering classes in Findlay, Ohio.
With the overwhelming success of the PMBA program at the off-campus location of Perrysburg's Levis Commons, the College saw a need for an accredited program at a convenient location for working professionals in the other parts of Northwest and Central Ohio, including the counties of Allen, Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, Seneca, Sandusky, Wyandot, and Crawford.
PMBA classes will be held in Findlay on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM in the Community Education and Wellness Center on County Road 18 (Crystal Avenue) at the Owens Community College campus. The evening class PMBA is designed to allow the busiest managers, professionals, and executives to earn a top quality MBA while continuing their career.
"We are very excited to open the Findlay classroom for the PMBA program," states Dr. Rogers. "Career committed people who wish to earn a top quality MBA from BGSU have been asking us to offer our evening classes in Findlay. Now they can earn their MBA while continuing to work full-time."
The College of Business launched its PMBA program in Perrysburg in 2009 and enrollment has surpassed expectations. Four separate cohorts are attending evening classes there.
With Owens-Illinois headquarters located next to Levis Commons in Perrysburg, a number of O-I professionals have enrolled in BGSU's PMBA program. According to O-I Vice President of Tax Jim Adams, "Our employees tell us they see immediate benefit from their MBA course work. They are able to immediately apply what they learn in the classroom to their work. I view the MBA experience as a win-win for both the student and the employer."
According to Dr. Rogers, students and alumni report that the PMBA courses are challenging and career relevant, and bring added value for them in their career and in their life. Dr. Rogers adds, "In addition to BGSU faculty with world-class credentials, we work extra hard to get senior executives to teach in our program to give the students the benefit of their experience."
Students enrolled in the PMBA program complete 12 MBA courses by attending class two evenings per week for 23 months. The PMBA program is fully accredited by AACSB and is recognized among the best business programs by U.S. News and World Report and by The Princeton Review, including being rated second in Ohio.
